If it wasn’t for doodling I don’t think I could…
If you are like me, and find it ridiculous to pay so much for unique and awesome envelopes and note paper to send letters to friend and family you are gona love this idea. All you need is a large road atlas that is old and outdated and some copy paper. You can make a bunch at once so you have some for on the fly if you want to write someone a little note.
Cut the map so just the map is showing, get ride of the ugly blue index on the bottom and top…
Place you copy paper on top of the map and get an idea for how much you need to cut away, you want about a half inch around the paper for the boarder, you can do less or more if you want to. Then clue the copy paper on top, be sure to get it one the ends and center so it sticks nicely.
Grab another sheet of the map paper and fold it in half the hamburger way so its fat. Then on the folded side cut out a heart shape, make it like the photo below, it can’t be to narrow or your letter will have a hard time fitting in it. If you are super picky you can measure, me… I’m lazy and could care less about it being perfect.
Fold the flaps of the heart in a little under half way and then fold the mountain part down to where the bottom of the heart flaps are so all you see is the top triangle that will be your opening for the envelope.
Glue this section down so the envelope stays together… let it dry and there you go… a fun way to make note sets.. for super cheap and they are so fun
