Neck ties have been turned into a number of things,…
I’m really proud of my boyfriend Dave, he is an amazing artisan baker that is extremely passionate for his craft. I think that is a huge part as to why we get along so well and understand each other. He recently got a new job at new bakery and his hours have shifted from 1pm-9pm to midnight-8am. At first, it did take some getting used to, and to be honest, it’s only been a week. I have a day job from 8am-5pm…. so to work on Trashy Crafter I have been waking up at 3:30am and working on it till 7am when I get ready for work.
Do I find it hard to get out of bed? Heck yeah I do, but what keeps me going and keeps me dragging myself out of the bed is following my passion. When I can work in the early morning hours I seem to get so much done, and have such clear thoughts. And when the day finally starts I feel like I got a jump start and had some turbo fuel. A few weeks ago, I had a quote inspiration art painting session, when there is paint all over my hands I’m having a great day.
I love the entire process from start to finish of creating my quote inspiration art. The journey of finding old book shelves in the alley, to taking them to my boyfriends step Dad to cut them up. Covering the wood pieces with the sheet music, book pages or maps is fun, but my favorite is pairing the colors with the quote. I ask myself, what colors would I feel if I felt this way? That is when I really see the art come to live and take on it’s own meaning, it’s a beautiful process the whole way through. Seeing them set up on a table at a show and watching a person connect with a quote is priceless and so powerful, and to this that was just an old bookshelf that would have end up in a landfill rotting for ten years, what a journey it’s been on, and I’m honored that I can join the ride!
